The Vapor Chef Coolcumber Melon

After a stellar first pair of reviews from The Vapor Chef’s Honey Pearry and Frosty Blue Jazzberry, I was practically giddy with anticipation at cracking open the next bottle from TVC. With the rest of the bottles requiring a little extra steeping time, I decided to dive headfirst into the Coolcumber, one of the most unique flavors on the market. Interestingly enough, this is not the first e-juice with a cucumber component that I’ve reviewed, the other however, has since been removed from the website after I received word (and supporting documentation) that the vendor in question had been accepting payment and not fulfilling said orders.

While that other juice had done well, it was fairly light on flavor. Vapor Chef’s Coolcumber Melon is anything but. This is an incredibly refreshing, clean flavor with a nice touch of sweetness and a light, fresh mint flavor. The profile is dominated by two proportionately balanced flavors. The first one to make an appearance is the sweet flavor of honeydew, presenting almost immediately on the inhale. It’s clearly the same spectacular melon flavor found in The Vapor Chef’s Honey Pearry which also scored remarkably well in it’s respective review. In the Honey Pearry, the honeydew flavor exploded from the profile, but in Coolcumber Melon, it’s a bit more restrained, allowing the crisp, mild, refreshing flavor of cucumber water, (a beverage made by pureeing fresh cukes and straining the result through a cheesecloth overnight), to create something truly special. The finish brings with it another stunningly natural, authentic flavor to the profile, sweet mint leaf. Make no mistake, this is not menthol, but rather a true to life, genuine mint.

All said, while this is unique, creative and downright delicious, the idea of a flavor so far off the beaten path can be a bit intimidating to some, but if it sounds intriguing, or even remotely appealing, I’d recommend giving this one a shot, the whole is far greater than the sum of it’s parts. It may not be an all day vape for you, but it is tasty change of pace, and a flavor I keep finding myself coming back to. While the delicate flavors in Coolcumber Melon can handle some pretty serious wattage (I had it all the way up over 12 watts without any significant flavor degradation), I preferred it just a hair over 9 watts or 4.8v on a 2.5Ω atomizer.

This not only provides abundant flavors, each more realistic than the last, but also packs in a surprisingly powerful throat hit and produces thick clouds of lightly sweet, crisp, clean vapor.
