Mt. Baker Vapor Extreme Ice Review

Vendor Description:

Nothing that even remotely describes the flavor. Seriously, their stories suck. You have to read the reviews to figure out what half of their flavors are supposed to be. This one is agreed to be a Mint + Menthol flavor.

As reviewed:

  • 80%PG/20%VG
  • 24mg/ml Nicotine
  • 30ml bottle
  • Dripped through an IGO-L on a Sigelei ZMAX v3 at 6.5-8w
  • Vaped in a Kanger Protank on an eGo Twist

Initials :

Of all the Mr. Good Vape flavors I’ve reviewed, or even tasted (and if I’m not mistaken, I believe I have at least felt the entire line) this one, Extreme Ice gave me the most difficulty. It’s not that the juice isn’t delicious, it is, very appetizing even, the issue I have here is that there seem to be a lot of flavors in this mix, and they are brought together in such a continuous, uninterrupted fashion that it is hard to say where one flavor melds into the next.

Mixing Options:

MVB is one juice vendor that offers a serious array of options. They have a slection of mix ratios, and you can even add extra flavoring to the juice. They even have a mix your own flavor option. Everything in the blend is quite sweet, as one would expect from an ice cream themed juice, yet despite the name that brings to mind the image of a picture perfect banana split, Extreme Ice is more like a menagerie of cooked sugar concoctions atop a single ice cream variety.

Dominant Flavor :
The dominant flavor in the juice is that of butter pecan, practically smothered in the deep, rich, dark essence of brown sugar, slowly cooked into a decadent caramelized butterscotch concoction, creating the type of flavor that leaves you with the feeling of having just overindulged at the local ice cream shop.

Background Notes:
The background notes, and make no mistake, they are signs used to enhance the dominant players further rather than stand on their own two feet, are a lighter vanilla note, and what I believe to be a trace of cinnamon.

Requires Curing:

I could vape this right out of the mail.

Cure Time:
One day in a hot car toned down the menthol a little bit (which is ok), but didn’t have much of an impact on taste.

Taste (Before Curing):
It’s minty , very sweet, the kind of juice enjoyed after a meal, or in the evening before bed, rather than something I would consider as an ADV, but that’s the point, it’s almost like a special occasion liquid (no special occasion necessary). It has a strong menthol component, exactly what I was looking for.

Taste (After Curing)
Minty, very strong menthol. This is what I used to trick my brain into thinking I was smoking when I first started vaping. It worked for me. I like this, but have since discovered that I prefer mint to menthol, and like some additional flavoring in my juice. I also taste a hint of a waffle cone like flavor, perhaps malt or something related, but the whole experience (and that how a composition like this should be viewed, as an experience rather than picking it apart, flavor by flavor as I’m tasked with doing) just works…regardless of ingredients.I would buy this again, and I could vape it all day, but probably wouldn’t.

Vapor Production & Throat hit:
While almost everything I’ve tasted from Mr. Good Vape has been high wattage friendly, I began to have some flavor issues with Sundae Funday at 28 watts. If you’re a mech mod vaper who like to go into the sub-Ω territory, I’d recommend keeping it above .55Ω or risk an off flavor from excessive heat.

Even in the SMOK ZMAX MINI , I preferred to keep this juice on the cooler side of the spectrum, settling in at 8.8w or 4.7v on with a 2.5Ω dripper which produces the creamy, dense, sweetness, a moderate throat hit, and a larger than anticipated cloud at this wattage. As I would expect for a 80/20 mix this juice has a serious throat hit.

Tank Cracker:
Not a tank cracker.

MBV is about the cheapest you are going to find. Coupled with their flavor variety and mixing options it’s a great deal all around.

Packaging (shipping):

Everything arrived correct and secure.

Packaging (bottle):

About the only thing I can gig MBV on with their bottles is that they only offer plastic bottles.

This is a solid juice, I would recommend this to anyone who likes mint of menthol. The only way it could improve is if MBV offered glass bottles.

Bonus Points:

Free sample with every order I’ve made, same nicotine level as the order, and nicotine up to 36mg/ml.
