Ahlusion Pineapple USD Cake Review

Ahlusion and I go back a long way. Almost two years from the date of this review, when I first began acquiring juice for this website, I managed to secure a couple of bottles of theirs, and before long, they had set the standard of what it would take to perform well on the website.

While I had only managed to get two of their juices for review, both were packed with outstanding flavor and performed quite well in their respective reviews. Since that time, I haven’t been able to get my hands on more of their juice.

Either I was inundated with other juice awaiting review, or their daily quotas were being met before I managed to get an order in. A while back however, everything fell into place, thanks to a very helpful vaper friend, and I managed to pick up a few more Ahlusion flavors for review. Of those, I decided to start with another of their dessert flavors, the Pineapple Upside-down Cake, by far one of my favorite cakes to eat, so I figured that would be as good a place as any to re-acquaint myself with the vendor.

All it took was a single vape to know that Ahlusion hit the nail square on the head and then proceeded to drive it home. This is spot-on, to a T, Pineapple Upside Down Cake. What makes the dessert so special, is the same thing that gives this e-liquid it’s appeal, a caramelized pineapple flavor with just enough acidity left in it to cut through the sweetness of the brown sugar and while still elevating the soft, delicate cake flavor to heights that it could not achieve otherwise.

The e-juice even has a leg up on the cake in that with the genuine article, you may get one of the deliciously sweet maraschino cherries, if you happen to get just the right slice of cake, with Ahlusion’s take, there’s a touch of sweet, juicy cherry flavor in every vape. The front side of the profile is mostly occupied by the strikingly realistic yellow cake flavor with a hint of the caramelized pineapple. The pineapple increases rapidly throughout the exhale, gradually taking over the leading role in the flavor profile until the finish, where the cake makes a repeat appearance joined by that subtle note of cherry.

The whole vape comes together with a certain sense of grace and sophistication as the flavors meld, playing off one another to create a profile that is downright remarkable. While all of the flavors perform well along the normal vaping wattage spectrum, I got the best ratio of cake to pineapple just short of 11 watts or 5.2v on a 2.5Ω atomizer. In addition to yielding the ideal flavor profile, this wattage also produces a solid throat hit and plumes of sweet, tasty vapor.

Taking it to a mech mod/RBA rig, I utilized a Nemesis topped with a dual coiled Helios at .55Ω, the flavors remain impressive with both throat hit and vapor production receiving the boost one would expect from the exponential increase in wattage.
